5 Reasons why Newquay is the ideal location for any Digital Nomad

Discover 6 elements that make up a coasteering session in the UK

How and where we work has certainly changed in the last two years. Many of us are looking to combine work and travel, experiencing new cultures, languages and activities without having to take any holiday time! But not everywhere is ideal for Digital Nomads. There needs to be good internet, interesting people, things to do and all the amenities you’d need for your stay. Luckily, Newquay has it all!

Here are 5 reasons why you should consider putting Newquay on your Digital Nomad map.

There are loads of things to do!

Ok, so you might spend most of the day in front of a screen – but you have to take breaks! And what better way to take a break than a quick walk along the beach, an energizing swim or simply just sitting on a bench, looking out at the stunning Cornish coast whilst you plan your afternoon meeting?

There’s always something going on in Newquay and a bunch of ways for you to pass 15 minutes (or even an afternoon off)!

The way of life

Everybody knows that your environment affects how you work – and that’s no different in Newquay. It’s hard to think about fast-paced city stress in this seaside town, even if you do have a corporate job. It’s a unique feeling to be able to have an important day at work and reward yourself with a sunset walk on the beach or even a late-night surf lesson.

And just because it’s less stressful doesn’t mean you’re missing out. Newquay has (almost) everything you’d need from a bigger city. Great restaurants, independent cafes, museums, amazing accommodation, bars… Newquay has it all. It’s also really easy to get around the town on bike or foot and it’s well connected by public transport, which is great for those who don’t want to hire a car.

Cafes and co-working spaces

There are amazing cafes scattered across Newquay. Most of them have internet and many allow you to work from them during the week and when it isn’t too busy. There are also a few co-working spaces which are great places to meet others, network and try not to get distracted by the views!

Not only are there a lot of great cafes with internet, but they also serve incredible food. You’ll be able to find pasties, sweet treats and lots of locally sourced ingredients – the perfect brain food!

A few of our favourites are Box & Barber, Fore Street Cafe and Pavillion.

The people

Newquay is fun, beautiful and very welcoming. That’s why so many people from around the world live here or pass through the town. You can swap stories of your favourite surf sites around the world or even meet someone you could work with – all in the local pub! By joining an activity or surf lesson you can meet new people, make great friends and have somewhere to stay if you’re travelling to their home country!

Surfing and adventure

Cornwall is the home of British surfing and you can’t go far in this town without wanting to give the sport a go yourself. Exercise, adventure and trying something new are great ways to switch off from work and clear your head. We offer different types of activities & surf hire including group surf lessons, couple’s sunset surf lessons, coasteering and adventure weekend breaks. It’s fun and having an afternoon surf lesson booked in is the perfect way to ensure you get all your work done!
